What Our Employees Say
“If you haven’t worked in this field, try it. This was my first job working with people with developmental disabilities, and I didn’t know their capabilities. I’ve learned to never judge a book by its cover. Going to work truly brings me joy.”
– Shiffone, Residential Coordinator
“I’ve worked with Tom for almost ten years , and he is one of the five people I support. Nothing makes me happier than helping them make new connections, build relationships, and develop friendships in their community. I love making people happy and being an advocate for the people we support.”
– Krissy, Community Habilitation Specialist, with Tom
“I started at a residential home in 2014 and met a young man who was nonverbal. I knew he was frustrated so I found unique ways to talk to him, learned his interests, passions, likes and dislikes. Now he feels safe and respected. I feel good inside.”
– Kyle (right), Residential Coordinator, with Gianni
“Connecting with our people is where a majority of our agency’s success stories come from. I love my job because I enjoy working with people to build positive relationships. At the heart of our organization, that’s what we’re trying to do.”
– PJ, Staff Development Specialist

Day Program Specialists work in one of our many Day Habilitation locations. Every day, program specialists inspire the people we support to learn and grow through volunteer activities in the community, a special art project, lessons in plant care, playing basketball at the gym and a variety of other activities.
Residential Specialists work in our friendly, comfortable homes located throughout Ulster and Greene counties. As a Residential Specialist, you’ll support people in these homes as they take steps toward independence. You will discover new opportunities and work with fun-loving men and women, each with their own distinct personality.
Community Habilitation Specialists work one-on-one with adults and children in their homes or in the community. If you are looking for a position that is part-time, flexible and provides you the chance to become an important part of someone’s life, this is the ideal choice for you.
Job Coaches provide hands-on support to people at their place of employment. This role will take you to retail stores, food markets, restaurants, hospitals, offices and other businesses in the community where you will coach people to build confidence and competence in their position.
Our direct support workforce is the backbone of our organization.
We support our staff’s education and growth to become certified Direct Support Professionals (DSP) by sponsoring their accreditation training through The National Alliance for Direct Support Professionals (NADSP).
